General Data Protection Regulation 25th May 2018
We maintain a database of our members on our computers which is used for email and/or post for the following purposes:

  1. Distribution of the annual Newsletter
  2. Notification of meetings, eg: AGM
  3. Notification of upcoming events
  4. To seek the views and support of members for the core activity of the organisation as displayed on our website – those being:
    • To promote safe cycling in and around Knutsford
    • Working with the authorities (Cheshire East and Knutsford Town Council, developers etc) to achieve these aims
    • To encourage cycling generally as a sport, leisure activity and commuting option

We do not process this data and will never divulge the information to any 3rd party (unless legally obliged to). Should any member or council member obtain data for whatever reason, they are obliged to adhere to the rules in this Policy Statement.

The Data Protection Officer is the membership secretary as elected from time to time.

Data Expiry and Right to Deletion:
Our information does not automatically expire as we have no feedback from our members to enable this, nor knowledge of who remain active members since we do not have a mandatory subscription.

You can email the membership secretary at any time to request your removal from the database.

We do not intend to write to all members to confirm retention of the data since it was solely and explicitly obtained from each member for the aim and purposes of the Organisation by completion of the ‘application’ form. We do not obtain data from other sources.
